Collector and curator of historical fashion
Join me tomorrow at the Museum of Vancouver for a fun filled evening! Details from the MOV website…
Happy Hour: Undressing Drag
Join us for drinks and a lively discussion about the fashion of local drag performers – the Bovines – an ensemble that performed throughout the lower mainland during the 1980s.
Vancouver collector and All Together Now exhibition contributor, Willow Yamauchi will speak to the history of her father’s drag queen ensemble and the handmade costumes once featured in their act. Local fashion historian Ivan Sayers will contextualize the fashion sensibilities of Canadian drag performance with historical narratives and illustrative charms. Drag performances from the lovely Peach Cobblah and Isolde N. Barron will follow the presentations.
Admission includes access to galleries. [More info]
